Definitions & Message Explanations
Status InformationAvailable: Item is available for check out. Checked-out-Due on (date): The means the book is checked out to a patron. Most items may be recalled by clicking on the Request button at the top of the screen. Checked-out (requests) -Due on (date): Item is checked out to a patron and has been recalled by another borrower. Checked-out (overdue)-Due on (date): Item is overdue as of the date listed. Checked-out (renewed)-Due on (date): Item has been renewed and is due back on date listed. Declared lost: Item is permanently unavailable. Check for additional copies. If item is not on shelf, ask at Circulation Desk This title may be available for your use. Inform the staff at the library's circulation desk if you do not find it on the shelf. They can check on its current status for you. In Process The item has been received by the library and is being prepared. If you would like to be notified when it is available, please check at a service desk for a KU Libraries User Request Form. In transit between locations The item is being moved in and out of different libraries or locations. Usually, items are in transit for up to 3 days, then should be available at their appropriate location. Missing (on search) - (date) Item is unavailable. Check at the circulation desk for assistance. On Hold at (Requests) Item is being held at the circulation desk. Number of requests represents the holds placed on the item by other patrons. Recently returned (date) Item has been returned on the above date. Usually, items are available on the shelf within 3 days of date listed.
