Displaying Images

A thumbnail image of each art object displays automatically on each Full Record Display. To view larger versions of that image, as well as other available views of the same object, click on the thumbnail image. When you do this, a new, separate window will open that displays the artist and title of the work in the upper left corner and then thumbnails of each available view. For example:

This is a new, separate window that can be moved, minimized and saved, or closed (usually by clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner of the window for Windows users, or on the "close window" box in the upper left corner for Mac users) as you wish. The Full Record Display remains active in another window. Under each image on this display are links to the "medium", "large", and "extra large" versions of the image (the approximate size of each, in pixels, is displayed at the top of the page).

Click the link of the image you wish to see -- again, a new, separate window will open displaying the individual image. This window also may be minimized, moved, or closed. Because individual images appear in separate windows, you can have several available on your screen at the same time. You also can minimize several of them, saving them to review later.

The first time you click a "medium," "large", or "extra large" link, you will be asked to login. See the "Logging In" help page for help on how to do this.
